» How much space do I get on my webhosting plan?

You get the number of MB as you have requested in you order. An example is the DELTA-suite,
where you get 150 MB for your website + 150 MB for your mailbox + 150 MB for your MySQL-database.

» How long does it take to set up a webhosting plan?

We set up new domains registred each day between 10am and 6pm.

The domain names are set up after we have
recieved you payment on our account.

When you have ordered
your hosting plan you will recieve a confirmation by email.

When we have recieved the payment and the form, if any is needed
the web space will be set up the same day. It is importaint to notice, that we can not do it any faster. Some may say that they can set up a plan within an hour. This is untrue,
we need to have the domain name registered/transfered first and this takes some time. Normally 1-2 days for most new domains, but it can take several weeks if a transfer is nessesary and the old webhost doesn´t accept the transfer of the domain.

» Do I get informed when my order has been executed?

Yes, by email.

» Is my website down anytime, while in process of being transfered to Cliche ?

When the transfer is done, there will be a 24 hour period where some of your visitors see your website througt your old host and some see it through Cliche.
Remember to set up your website via FTP as soon as you recieve your FTP codes from us in an email.

» Which email address will recieve the passwords for my webhosting plan?

We send all your passwords to the email address you reported when ordering your service.

» Which email address will recieve the invoice for the annual renewal fee?

You will recieve the invoice on both the email address you reported when ordering the service,
as well as your default email on your domain. We do this to ensure that you recieve it.

» Why do I need an internet connection when I have a webhosting plan?

If you want to recieve emails and surfe on the internet, you need an internet connection.
When you buy a hosting plan with Cliche, we deliver a service that makes your website availlable 24 hours a day.
This has nothing to do with your internet connection.

In addition to this we deliver a
service which recieves mail, and leaves it availlable for you to get when you like.

This can be done all over the world, as long as you are on the internet.

» Why doesn´t my IP-address work in the browser?

We have multihosting on the same IP-address.

Several hosting plans are using the same IP-address. You will always be able to find your IP-address by writing "ping domain.co.uk" in a dos-promt, but it can not be used to find your web site. If you
want to link to your own website you need the full URL=http://www.domain.co.uk

» What should i call the default filename for my startpage?

On our windows-based servers, you have following options: default.asp, default.htm, default.html, index.asp, index.htm and index.html.

You can have others on request
for a minor fee. To get extra startup documents, write to hostmaster@cliche.co.uk.

On our Apache-based servers you have following options: index.htm, index.html and index.php.

» Can I get *-alias/wildcard instead of "www" to point to the same website as domain.co.uk?

On our Apache-based servers this is standard on all webhosting plans. Unfortunately it can not be done on our Windows-based servers as default.

» Limitations on services

Any limitations Cliche have the purpose of securing high uptime and fast connection to our services.

File size limit on file upload via FTP: 50MB
Space available for each mailbox: 512MB
PHP memory_limit: 32M
