Mail - Thunderbird

  1. Close any guides which may open automatically if it is the first time you start Thunderbird.
  2. Click the menu symbol with the 3 lines in the top right corner.
  3. Open Preferences and next choose Account Settings.
  4. At the bottom section Account Actions click Add Mail Account.
  5. Fill in the fields Your name, E-mail Address and Password. Click Continue.
  6. Make sure that the information Thunderbird has autodetected is correct, by checking of the following mail server is found: [Click to find name].
  7. If mail server name (POP/SMTP) is correct , continue to stop 10.
  8. Click Manual Configuration and make sure the complete e-mail address is entered in Username.

    Incoming information:
    - Server hostname must be set to [Click to find name].
    - Port set to 995.
    - SSL set to SSL/TLS.
    - Authentication set toNormal password.

    Outgoing information:
    - Server hostname must be set to [Click to find name].
    - Port set to 587.
    - SSL set to STARTTLS.
    - Authentication set to Normal Password.
  9. Click Re-test.
  10. If no errors occur click Done and OK.

If you have lost your POP3/SMTP password, you should reset it through the mail administrationen.
